Food Process Worker

Our Processing Team is growing and requires dedicated full time staff to assist with lobster feed preparation, seafood processing, quality control, product packaging and logistics. This hands-on position is suitable for a candidate with an outstanding work ethic and who is looking to progress within a growing company.

Position title: Processes Worker

Location: Chinderah, NSW

Department/Section: Logistics & Processing

Reports to: Processing Manager

Major Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Execute tasks as communicated by management staff
  • Prepare feed for production
  • Prepare seafood products
  • Clean workspace and equipment
  • Picking and packing orders for dispatch
  • Follow policies, procedures and Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

Individual Requirements:
-Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
-Is physically fit to handle lift, carry, and place items up to 20kg.
– Is able to bring a positive and optimistic attitude, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit.
-Displays an honest and reliable work ether and is respectful to all fellow colleagues and the company. Accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments.

Skills and Experience
Desired, not essential;

  • Seafood/food processing experience
  • Forklift licence

Essential;

  • Driver’s licence
  • Proven communications and organisation skills
  • A record showing commitment and reliability
  • Capability to perform repetitious tasks efficiently, correctly and systematically

The Role

Working Environment 
Whilst performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly exposed to cold refrigeration temperatures. The position will require lifting and carrying objects up to 20kg and periods of driving.

Construction and Maintenance

ABLP requires a qualified gardener to manage its growing landscaping requirements. The candidate needs to be self-motivated, be competent in managing staff and work within our team to complete works required. This hands-on position is suitable for a candidate with an outstanding work ethic, one who takes pride in their work and who is looking to progress within a growing company.

Position title: Qualified Gardener

Location: Chinderah, NSW

Department/Section: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Major Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Execute tasks as communicated by management staff
  • Liaise with, and support maintenance manager
  • Maintain existing plantings and lawns
  • Input into the design of future landscaping
  • Plant propagation
  • Maintain and organise workspace and equipment
  • Prepare and maintain paperwork, and maintain databases
  • Follow policies, procedures and Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

-Speaks and writes clearly and informatively, listens and gains clarification, participates in meetings.
-Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
-Is physically fit to handle lift, carry, and place items up to 20kg.

Aquaculture Attendant

Our husbandry team requires an aquaculture attendant with an outstanding work ethic and desire to develop their knowledge and aquaculture skills across all production areas; hatchery, nursery, and growout.

A willingness to learn is essential.

Key Duties include
Execute tasks as communicated by management staff.

  • Monitor and assess animal health at different stages of the Bay Lobster life cycle.
  • Undertake preventative and reactive maintenance of animals, including; inspecting, feeding, transferring, treating.
  • General upkeep of tanks and production areas, including; cleaning tanks, routine maintenance of aquaculture systems, equipment, and areas.
  • Make observations of animal and system health, research, collect and collate data and information, liaise with and report to – colleagues and senior staff.
  • Follow policies, procedures and Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

Individual Requirements

-Displays a willingness to learn & expand knowledge about all facets of husbandry.

The Role
Full-time position – Able to work a minimum of 38 hours per week

  • Must be available to work some nightshifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Probationary period
  • Have a construction White Card (or equivalent), or willing to acquire one.
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Australian resident or have the right to work full time in Australia
  • ABLP has a zero tolerance to drug and alcohol use. You may be subjected to a medical including drug and alcohol testing pre/post-employment

Working Environment
Whilst performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly exposed to warm temperatures (ranging between 25-30°C) and high humidity. Most work is performed in the dark. Torches and working at heights is required.
